2009!
As 2008 is rolling on, we're already starting to sell out 2009!
As we finish off each tour, the majority of the places we just visited have also booked for their next Alpha Show as we generally are invited back year after year to most places we go. That means we sell out about a year in advance. And as we keep adding new shows every year, this means there is less and less time for each invidual tour.
So we encourage you to book for 2009 now. Check below for the touring schedule to help you with what show you might like.
These newsletters, as we get busier, are few and far between! We have not produced one for a year. The last year has been very busy for us, a lot of big changes happening in the company as well as multiple shows getting ready to go on the road at once. Melbourne Comedy Festival, big Fed Square shows later this year, and our first touring to Queensland in August 2008 make this a big time for us. Please continue to support us as only through your repeat business are we able to remain viable and continue to produce and tour our shows - and please, tell your friends and colleagues!
Because of our increased workload however, sometimes we may not remember everything and get as much information out to you, so please, if you ever need information, always feel free to email us at [email protected]...we'd love to hear from you. And there's always the Alpha Forums too!

Alpha's Beauty and the Beast School shows 2009
We would love to visit you this year with Beauty and the Beast ... our original show and usually the show we offer to schools first, as it's a great introduction to the genre. Due to the fact we sell out so far in advance, we'd ask you to book for 2009 now.
The story is just lovely. It brings to life the classic fairytale, so you can use it for a unit on fairytales, with everything you would expect including sword fights and the dramatic transformation of the Beast...but you can also use it for many other areas of the curriculum, like literacy, theatre and values; as well as just giving your students an incredibly intense and rock-concert show that will create happiness and enthusiasm!
Like all Alpha shows, there are subtle values themes and follow up work that provide powerful subconscious messages and metaphors to positively influence your students.
The theme of this show is about BELIEFS and how when you believe something that is limiting, it can limit your life. An updated 'closed eye' process in the show helps all experiencing the show to go deep and discover new beliefs for themselves, along with the Beast. This is obviously a very special learning opportunity both during the show and in the classroom or home. Ensure you download the 'post-show discussion' pack for the show on our curriculum page.
You can either call us directly, check out the website, or if you prefer, contact Sue or Robyn at Nexus Arts who is currently helping new schools discover the Alpha difference. The Alpha team is also able to help you, so you can call 1300 850 658 if you have questions you want answered about the show or when we're available.
Go to the Beauty and the Beast Page and you can make your booking directly on there

New conditions for booking
Recently we updated conditions and the agreement we have with all clients
We have to ensure that our clients understand the conditions of booking, so we've made them a lot clearer on the new style invoices that you will soon start seeing. These invoices also make it easier to pay, and to see when your payment is due by. There will be now a $50 late payment fee for payments received later than 7 days after the performance. As always, it is best to have the cheque ready on the day.
In addition to that, as Alpha is now performing a lot more for the 'public' - we must ensure certain standards when promoting the shows, so all customers and the public understand what they are coming to see. Therefore we have had to ask that all marketing material and artwork be approved by us prior to printing or publishing, as well as ensuring only official artwork is used when promoting an Alpha show.
For the full conditions, please check the Alpha Shows Conditions of Booking page!
