Alpha Shows provides rigorous and challenging professional touring performance work in a fun and stimulating environment to play and perform for thousands of children across Australia! Touring involves early mornings, setting up and packing down a full set, lighting and sound equipment every day and lots of travel away from home. We’re looking for committed, reliable, hard-working performers who can work well in a team on and off stage.
Alpha Shows is seeking passionate, dedicated performers with strong work ethic and positive energy to join our national touring casts. Upcoming productions include Hercules and our brand-new show Rapunzel.
This is a chance to perform in highly engaging, full-scale musical theatre productions seen by thousands of children across Australia. You’ll rehearse rigorously in Altona North, then hit the road with a cast of professionals delivering unforgettable shows in schools and venues.
We’re looking for:
• Melbourne-based performers who are team players, adaptable and reliable.
• Actors who thrive in both performance and backstage teamwork (e.g. set up/pack down).
• Big characters! Comedy, improv and physical theatre experience highly valued.
• Musical theatre performers also welcome, though singing is not essential.
• We welcome performers of all backgrounds, beliefs and ethnicities to apply.

We therefore cast for a great variety of roles, from principal roles in classic fairytales & myths; as well as comedy roles, villains and character roles.
Even though Alpha is not a huge company, we provide a great working environment for all our actors and a chance to perform in music theatre style productions that are the highest quality in Australia!
